Economic Affordability Resolution

26 Brads Economic Affordability Resolution

CostLiving.png

The Executive Committee of the Independent American Party of Nevada hereby adopts the following **Resolution on Economy, Cost of Living, and Housing Affordability** for the 2026 midterms.

This resolution provides a unified, principled message for all IAPN

candidates—congressional districts, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, and Assembly races—to emphasize practical, Nevada-first solutions that resonate with working families, including the growing nonpartisan electorate (now ~38% of active voters statewide, the largest bloc).

**WHEREAS**, Nevadans across the state are facing severe economic pressures, with high inflation, soaring energy bills, grocery costs, fuel and unaffordable housing ranking as the top voter concern (39% cite the economy overall, 16% specifically housing affordability in recent polls); and

**WHEREAS**, median home prices in Las Vegas have climbed dramatically (near $482,000 recently, up significantly since pre-pandemic levels), mortgage payments have roughly doubled for many since 2019 due to higher rates and prices, and everyday costs continue to strain household budgets under ongoing national economic challenges; and

**WHEREAS**, the Independent American Party of Nevada stands for economic responsibility, prosperity through limited government, reduced taxes and regulations, sound money principles, and putting working families and Nevada communities ahead of wasteful spending or political favoritism; and

**WHEREAS**, true relief requires rejecting big-government overreach from Washington (whether from establishment figures or partisan extremes) and focusing on common-sense policies that empower individuals, small businesses, and local economies;

**NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED** that the Independent American Party of Nevada calls on its candidates and supporters to champion the following solutions as core priorities for 2026:

- **Cut wasteful government spending** at all levels to reduce the

burden on taxpayers and curb inflation-driving deficits.

- **Reduce burdensome regulations** that drive up construction costs, energy prices, and business expenses, making it easier to build homes and create jobs in Nevada.

- **Lower taxes** on working families, small businesses, and property owners to put more money back in Nevadans' pockets and encourage investment in our communities.

- **Support American jobs and energy independence** by promoting domestic production, reducing reliance on foreign sources, and lowering energy costs for households and industries.

- **Put working families and Nevada communities first**—prioritizing citizens in resource allocation, opposing policies that subsidize outsiders at the expense of locals, and ensuring economic policies

deliver real affordability and opportunity for all Nevadans.

**BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED** that IAPN candidates will frame this issue as "Nevada First: Practical Solutions for Working Families," highlighting people before politics and citizens before outsiders. We support America First policies under our President while rejecting RINO establishment failures in Congress that have failed to deliver lasting relief. This approach appeals to independents and nonpartisans—who hold the balance in Nevada—by focusing on shared pocketbook struggles, fairness, and results over partisan division.

Adopted this day by the Executive Committee of the Independent

American Party of Nevada.

This resolution is concise for handouts, speeches, or platform

statements—fits easily on your 11" flyers (add as a dedicated section or bullet under principles). It keeps our conservative core (limited government, tax cuts, energy independence, citizens first) while using inclusive, practical language to attract the 38%+ nonpartisan voters who decide races here.
