For State Senate of the Capital District
Hello,
My name is Cody Quirk, and I’m officially running for State Senate of the Capital District, (which includes Carson City,
the northern portions of Douglas County, and the western portion of Lyon County).
I’m running as an Independent American, and as a candidate for the People of Nevada, since
the Independent American Party
is a political party that stands up for the will and rule of the People of the Silver State.
If elected to office- as State Senator, I will:

Oppose any new taxes or tax increases.
- Seek to lower taxes and abolish several taxes as well, including the modified business tax.
- Cut all unnecessary spending and call for a 20% reduction in the salary of any state government employee making over 50,000$ annually, including the Governor, Attorney General, etc.
- Seek to repeal any current and unconstitutional restrictions on Gun-rights & ownership in Nevada.
- Seek to create and pass legislation that would restrict state welfare benefits to legal Nevada residents only.
- Force negotiations with the Bureau of Land Management to gain public land for economic development that would
greatly benefit the state and local communities, and also to return previously inhabited land to the various Native
American tribes across Nevada.
I also would:

Create legislation that would make St. Patrick’s Day an official state holiday and designate the month of March
as Irish History Month for Nevada.

Legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes only, and be strictly regulated by the state and local
governments, and use the proceeds to fund various state and local drug/alcohol treatment programs, and to
combat meth and other legitimate, dangerous narcotics in our state.
