For Immediate Release:

The Nevada Supreme Court today ruled that district court Judge Sally Loehrer "erroneously disqualified" Henderson Constable Independent American Party candidate, Nicholas Hansen, and ordered he be placed back on the ballot.

"I’m thrilled about the decision," Nicholas Hansen said. "We knew that the court would rule in our favor because we knew the Supreme Court would follow the law. We are saddened that the taxpayers of Nevada were forced to pick up some of the costs of this ridiculous claim by Constable Earl Mitchell. We want a full accounting of what Mitchell’s false accusations have cost Nevada tax payers. It is obvious that Mitchell cared more about holding onto to a part time job than he did about the costs to Nevadans for his erroneous challenge to my candidacy."

"I believe it also calls into question how Earl Mitchell handles his responsibilities as Constable. If he would misinterpret a law in this manner in an attempt to benefit himself, it calls into questions all his other decisions and other legal issues, such as, why he is not properly bonded as required by law, " Hansen said.

Hansen’s Attorney, Greg Hansen (also an IAP candidate for office) said he had been shocked by Loehrer’s original decision. "We handled Nicholas’s appeal pro bono because Judge Loehrer’s ruling was such a total misreading of the law. It was impossible not to wonder if this was an inside job done for a fellow government employee. Even Las Vegas Citylife said, ‘This matter was up to District Court Judge Sally Loehrer to decide... I must say that the only way her ruling makes any sense is to assume that it was beamed into her by confused aliens from the Zorkon 5 galaxy.’"

"I have to agree with Citylife’s opinion in this matter. It made no sense" attorney Hansen concluded.
